Arson is blamed for a fire that damaged a vacant house early Sunday morning in Mid City, said Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman Mark Miles.

Firefighters arrived at the vacant house in the 3600 block of Webb Street around 4:30 a.m. and found flames shooting out the front of the house, Miles said.

Damage to the house was estimated at $25,000, he said.

Fire investigators ruled the house fire an arson, Miles said.
