Two men will be booked in the Tuesday morning shooting of a woman in a home at 9367 Ridgewood Drive, according to an East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office news release.
According to reports, four men who claimed to be bounty hunters were at the home around 4:45 a.m. as part of a search for a fugitive, the release says.
The release says two of the men were at the front of the home and two were at the back.
The two men in the back of the home opened a cracked window in order to get inside and pointed a weapon in the home, the release says.
When the woman came to the window, one of the men fired a shot striking her, the release says.
The man who reportedly opened the window, Anthony Thomas, 24, of 8948 Corlette Drive, will be booked with home invasion.
The alleged shooter, Demarcus J. McKnight, 31, of 13413 Felton Clark Drive, will be booked with illegal use of a weapon and principal to home invasion.
The woman was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover, the release says.
The shooting is still under investigation, the release says.
