East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies late Saturday were searching for a man who robbed a MetroPCS cellphone store on Coursey Boulevard at gunpoint earlier in the day.

The man went to a counter in the store and pulled a pistol from his pocket, demanding that a clerk give him money from the register, a news release from the Sheriff’s Office says. The clerk handed over the money and the suspect ran away.

The suspect is a white man between 35 and 45 years old, the release says. He is 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and was seen wearing a gray T-shirt with a Buffy’s Carwash logo, a red undershirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Office at 389-5000 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.

Editor’s note: The story was changed on April 24, 2016, to include the correct name of the carwash on the person’s t-shirt.
