Baton Rouge police arrested one of two brothers Friday wanted in an early morning shooting Wednesday that injured two people.

Joseph Bentley Christy, 24, and his brother Larry Christy, 21, armed with a pistol, drove to a North Harco Drive apartment complex shortly before 2 a.m. to start a fight with someone they were trying to find, according to a police report on the incident.

Larry Christy fired the pistol at two people, striking one, but a bullet also hit a third victim who was sleeping in an apartment nearby, the report says. Joseph Christy told police he heard gunshots and that afterward he and his brother left the scene in their car.

Joseph Christy told police he knew his brother had a gun when they drove to the complex that night.

Joseph Christy, 5959 Cadillac St. Apt. 11088, was booked into Parish Prison on one count each of accessory after the fact to: attempted first-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon and aggravated criminal damage to property.

Larry Christy had not been arrested as of late Saturday night.
