A Baton Rouge man arrested early Friday is accused of pulling a knife on his girlfriend and threatening to stab her and her dog if she left their home.

The woman told police she had begun to pack her belongings after an argument with her boyfriend, Kendell Burgess, 28, at his home at 1413 Jim Taylor Drive, when he pushed her onto the bed, held her down and pulled a 4-inch hunting knife on her, pointing it at her face and threatening her, according to the arrest report.

When police responded to a report of a disturbance at the home, Burgess confessed to the officer, the report says.

Burgess was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on counts of false imprisonment with a dangerous weapon and domestic aggravated assault.
