Police arrest Baton Rouge man in Sept. 11 rape at victim’s home _lowres

Telvin Robertson

Police on Thursday arrested a 22-year-old man accused of grabbing a woman outside her house, pulling her inside and raping her in September.

The victim told police she was standing outside in the afternoon on Sept. 11 when Telvin Lavant Robertson pushed her into her house as she was telling him to leave, the Baton Rouge Police report says.

Robertson picked up the victim and brought her to a bedroom, where he pulled off her clothes and raped her, the report says.

The victim told Robertson to “stop” and “leave,” but Robertson continued the assault, the report says.

Family of the victim said they saw Robertson in the area the day of the attack. They also told investigators her demeanor has been different since that day, describing her now as “timid and quiet.”

Robertson, 6315 Greenwell St., Apt. 21, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count each of aggravated burglary and second-degree rape.
