Baton Rouge police identified the 47-year-old Baker woman who was hit and killed Monday evening by a vehicle while trying to cross Plank Road.

Antoinette Jackson was crossing the street in the 8100 block of Plank Road around 7:30 p.m. when she was hit by a 2017 Honda Civic, Baton Rouge police spokesman Sgt. L'Jean McKneely Jr. said Tuesday afternoon.

Pedestrian killed after being struck by vehicle near Plank Road

The vehicle had been traveling north in the outside lane of Plank Road when the wreck happened, McKneely said. Jackson died on the scene. There were no other injuries.

There are no pending charges in the crash, McKneely said. Police continue to investigate.
