Update, 5:02 p.m.: Perkins Road lanes affected have re-opened.

Original story

Two east bound lanes on Siegen Lane near Perkins Road are shut down currently because a utility truck with a trailer spilled diesel about 4 p.m. at their intersection.

State police spokesperson Trooper First Class Bryan Lee said the load in the trailer shifted and punctured the truck’s gas tank, causing the leak. Lee estimated about 30 to 40 gallons of diesel were spilled.

Baton Rouge Fire Department and the St. George Fire Department are on scene, the Baton Rouge Fire Department said in a news release.
