Police seeking masked robbers in Circle K heist

Police are looking for two armed men who covered their faces with bandanas while robbing a convenience store this week.

The men walked through the front door of the Circle K store at 1910 Brightside Drive about 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, Baton Rouge police said Saturday in a news release.

The robbers walked to the counter, pulled a handgun on the clerk and demanded money and merchandise. The thieves left through the front door after getting an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise, the release states.

There were no injuries reported.

One suspect wore a gray hooded jacket, blue jeans and covered his face with a camouflage bandana. The other was wearing a black jacket, black pants and covered his face with a black and white bandana.

Police urge anyone with information to contact the Armed Robbery Division at 389-3845 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.

Three booked on suspicion of DWI in EBR

Authorities arrested at least three people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, booking records show.

Those booked and the counts against them:

Robert Lee, 42, 5840 West Rio Drive, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, open container violation, reckless operation, driver’s license required and equipment violation.

Aaron Vinet, 27, 11393 Wellington Lane, Hammond, first-offense DWI and failure to maintain control.

Steven Westbrook, 50, 855 S. Flannery Road, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, reckless operation, failure to yield during left turn and expired driver’s license.
