Detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday at 8:13 a.m. at the Dollar General, 3939 Choctaw Drive, according to a Baton Rouge Police Department news release.

The suspect went into the store, flashed a hand gun and demanded money from the cashier, the release says.

The robber was given an undisclosed amount of cash before he left, the release says.

Video from the store captured the suspect’s image inside the store and also captured the suspect getting into a small, white four-door vehicle, possibly a Honda Accord or Civic, the release says.

The robber is described as a 26-year-old black man, 6 foot, 3 inches tall with a thin build, medium to light skin tone, a thin mustache, small chin hair and wearing a blue winter knit cap with tie flaps.

He was also wearing a long sleeve white and blue horizontal striped shirt, dark blue jeans, dark colored shoes.
