Officials are searching for a man who stole nearly $20,000 worth of prescription medications early Friday morning from a Gonzales pharmacy on La. 44.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office believes it may be the same man who tried to break into another Gonzales pharmacy the previous day, the Sheriff’s Office news release says.

Sheriff Jeff Wiley said the man, captured on video, broke into the back of Ralph’s Pharmacy shortly after midnight, disabling the alarm, and then stole a large amount of prescription medication.

Early morning the previous day, someone attempted to break into the Lagniappe Pharmacy on Airline Highway and also was caught on camera, the release says.

The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information on either burglary to call (225) 621-4636 or text 847411, or call Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867. To be eligible for a cash reward, call Crime Stoppers immediately.
