Baton Rouge police have made an arrest in a 2009 shooting that left three people dead in a car on Byron Avenue.

Darrelle D. Harris, 28, was arrested Wednesday and accused of killing Adrian Stewart, 27; Marcus Thomas, 24; and Gabriella Eisworth, 20, on July 9, 2009, an arrest warrant says.

The victims were found shot to death inside a 2003 silver Honda Accord with tinted windows parked in a driveway at 6047 Byron Ave., the warrant says.

Police arrested Harris after receiving a tip from someone Harris confided in, the warrant says.

That person, who was not named, told police that Harris confessed to the killings and that the victims were shot because of a “drug deal gone bad,” the warrant says.

Harris, 604 Royal Crest Drive, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on three counts of first-degree murder.
