18-year-old Central man accused of raping unconscious girl he provided with Xanax, alcohol _lowres

Tristian Bennett, 18, was booked on counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile, simple rape and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

An 18-year-old man was arrested Sunday and accused of raping a 15-year-old girl Friday after she “blacked out” from consuming Xanax and alcohol.

The victim told police she was with Tristian Bennett at his home in Central when she agreed to take Xanax and drink alcohol that he gave her, according to a Sheriff’s Office report.

She said she told Bennett she had enough and became incoherent, the report says. When Bennett urged her to take more drugs, she initially said she did not want to, but then agreed because she was scared he would become violent with her.

The girl said she then blacked out but opened her eyes a few times and noticed her pants were off and she was in Bennett’s bed. When she opened her eyes again, she saw Bennett on top of her and raping her, the report says.

From that point on, she said, she doesn’t remember anything until she woke up in her bed the next morning.

She told police she did not consent to have sex and could not have because she was under the influence of drugs, the report says.

The two did have consensual sex a few days before the Friday incident and the girl told Bennett she was 15 years old before they had sex, the report says.

When detectives contacted Bennett, he admitted to having sex with the girl but said he thought she was 18. He was transported to the East Baton Rogue Parish Detectives Office, where he refused to answer further questions without a lawyer present.

Bennett, of 9477 Lansdowne Road No. 22, was booked in Parish Prison on counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile, simple rape and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
