The semifinalists for Louisiana Teacher of the Year were announced Wednesday and they include a math teacher at Southeast Middle in Baton Rouge and a social studies teacher at St. Amant High School in Ascension Parish.
Michelle Perk, of Southeast Middle, and Danielle Delaune, of St. Amant High School, are among 18 semifinalists who won regional competitions across the state.
Also announced Wednesday are the 18 semifinalists for Louisiana Principal of the Year. They include Tammy Golden, principal at Park Ridge Academic Magnet School in Baker, and James Carroll, principal of West Feliciana Parish High School in St. Francisville.
The winners for both competitions will be selected July 11 at a ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Executive Center in Baton Rouge. The event is co-sponsored by the nonprofit group Dream Teachers.
