LSU professor selected to head Missouri School of Journalism _lowres

David Kurpius, LSU associate vice chancellor of enrollment management and professor of mass communication, has been named dean of the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism, according to a news release from LSU.

Previously, Kurpius served as associate dean of LSU’s Manship School of Mass Communication, as well as director of Student Media at LSU. He will begin his tenure at Missouri on July 1.

Kurpius arrived at LSU in 1997 as a professor of mass communication, teaching advanced news-gathering classes, public affairs reporting and courses on minorities in journalism.
