Two McKinley High school seniors, Danielle Stamper and Brianna O’Rourke, are set to appear on stage with Beyoncé during the pop star’s halftime show planned for Super Bowl XVLII in New Orleans.

Stamper is captain of the football dance team at the Baton Rouge school and O’Rourke is president of the student government, and they earned their coveted slots through auditions, including ones this past week in Gonzales, said Sonya Gordon, a spokeswoman for the East Baton Rouge Parish school system.

Gordon said another 20 McKinley High students will dance as well, though not on stage, joining hundreds of other dancers from across the nation to participate in the halftime performance.
