A new initiative called Beyond Bricks EBR has announced that it will hold 13 listening sessions to ask residents of East Baton Rouge Parish what they would like to see happen in public education. The things people say will be used to develop a community agenda for improving public education in the parish.

The meetings will be held:

WEDNESDAY: 12:30 p.m., BREC, Cadillac Street Park, 6117 Cadillac St., hosted by the Rev. Terry Ellis, of Broadmoor Baptist Church, and the Rev. Linda Reed, of St. Mary Baptist Church.

Thursday: 6 p.m., Scotlandville High School, 9870 Scotland Ave., hosted by Rabbi Jordan Goldson, of Congregation B’Nai Israel, and the Rev. Clee Lowe, of Greater Mount Carmel Baptist Church.

Saturday: 10 a.m., Bluebonnet Library, 9200 Bluebonnet Blvd.; hosted by the Rev. Jay Hogewood, of St. John’s United Methodist; and the Rev. Gerard Robinson, of McKowen Baptist Church.

Tuesday, Feb. 3: 10 a.m., East Baton Rouge Parish School System Professional Development Center, 3000 N. Sherwood Forest Blvd., hosted by the Rev. Larry Miller, of University Methodist Church, and the Rev. Mary Moss, of St. Alma Baptist Church.
