Lafayette Republican Charles Boustany will chair the human resources subcommittee of the U.S. House Ways & Means Committee in the 2015-16 Congress, his office announced Thursday.

Boustany previously headed the Ways & Means oversight subcommittee, and he used that position to probe IRS misdeeds, including the targeting of tea-party organizations and other political groups claiming tax exemptions. He sponsored IRS reform measures that passed the House this year with bipartisan support.
