Scott Angelle, a Republican running for Louisiana governor this year, is expected to report having raised more than $1.5 million in 2014 when campaign finance disclosures are due next month.

“I am humbled, overwhelmed and energized by the outpouring of support that our campaign for governor of Louisiana has received in just the past few months from every part of the state. Now, we begin the next phase of our campaign where we will demonstrate that we have the character and the capacity to bring Louisiana together to meet the challenges faced by our state,” Angelle, a Public Service Commission member, said in a statement from his campaign Thursday.
