Louisiana ranked as the the most pro-life state in the U.S., according to annual report from Americans United for Life released Tuesday.
AUL, which bills itself as the nation’s top pro-life legal team, said Louisiana finished No. 1 for the sixth year in a row. Washington ranked the most pro-abortion state, according to the report.
In compiling its rankings, AUL said it analyzed "progress made legislatively or in litigation in 2014."
“In the last 4 years, states have enacted more than 200 pro-life laws protecting women and girls from abortion industry abuses,” AUL President and CEO Dr. Charmaine Yoest said in a news release.
Mississippi, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas round out AUL's top five. New Jersey, California, Oregon, Vermont and Washington are in the list's bottom five.
Louisiana is proud of our pro-life culture, and we will continue fighting to protect the unborn. http://t.co/qAqvumbHmM— Gov. Bobby Jindal (@BobbyJindal) January 13, 2015
