Gov. John Bel Edwards and LSU coach Ed Orgeron have teamed up to encourage Louisiana residents to be prepared for hurricane season.

The governor's office on Tuesday released a public service announcement featuring the two plugging the state's website, which offers updates on weather conditions and offers tips for how families, businesses and homeowners can prepare for severe weather. 

New Orleans mayor Mitch Landrieu and a parade of officials spoke to address storm preparations ahead of tropical weather churning toward Louisiana's coast.
