Baton Rouge Area Chamber, or BRAC, announced Monday the hiring of a Jindal administration official.

Michael DiResto, spokesman for the Division of Administration, starts next month as BRAC’s senior vice president for economic competitiveness.

“Michael brings a wealth of public policy experience, passion and intellect to the role of leading BRAC’s public policy group. We are tremendously excited to welcome him to our team,” said BRAC’s president and CEO, Adam Knapp, in a prepared statement.

DiResto will direct economic analysis efforts.

For the Jindal administration, he focused on legislative relations, communications and other tasks.

DiResto previously worked for the Louisiana Republican Party and then-U.S. Rep. Richard Baker, R-Baton Rouge.
