Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne and challenger Billy Nungesser are scheduled to participate in a Baton Rouge Tea Party political forum Thursday.
The two Republicans face each other on the Oct. 22 election ballot.
Early voting begins Saturday and lasts until Oct. 15.
The candidates are among the speakers for a 6:30 p.m. special meeting of the group at the Lake Sherwood Club House, 3831 Lake Sherwood Ave. East, according to a news release issued by the group’s media director Ladonna Ward.
Wes Benedict, national executive director of the Libertarian Party, will be the featured guest speaker, the news release said.
Others scheduled to participate are Coroner Shannon Cooper and challenger Beau Clark as well as Mike Mannino, a candidate for the new state Senate District 6 seat.
