Louisiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Catherine “Kitty” Kimball will join former Gov. Edwin Edwards and Trina Grimes Scott in marriage this week.

Kimball’s spokeswoman, Valerie Willard, confirmed Tuesday that Kimball is presiding over the wedding.

“Yes, it is true that the Chief Justice will perform the ceremony to marry Gov. Edwards and Trina,” Willard said by email.

Edwards and Scott, 32, are marrying Friday, just one day before the former governor’s 84th birthday bash.

Scott told social networking friends that the wedding will be in New Orleans.

“I do wish I could invite everyone! But if you wanna catch the bouquet be on Bourbon Street and I’ll throw it!” she posted.
