U.S. Rep. Mike Johnson's 46th birthday will be a memorable one, thanks to birthday wishes from an unexpected source.
Johnson, R-Bossier, was along the aisle as President Donald Trump made his way into the U.S. House chamber for his 2018 State of the Union address.
After a quick prompt from House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Trump shook Johnson's hand and wished him a happy birthday.
Johnson posted a video of the exchange on his Facebook page after Trump's speech.
Johnson posted along with the video: "For all those who are calling and texting to ask: Yes, President Trump wished me a happy birthday on the way in tonight. And, no, he did not remember on his own. ☺ (In the video, you can hear Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy remind him, 'Mr. President, it's Mike's birthday...')"
Johnson, a former state lawmaker who began his Congressional tenure in 2017.
