The former director of nursing at Villa Feliciana Medical Complex and her son have agreed to pay $3,000 in fines for violation of the state nepotism laws.

The Louisiana Board of Ethics signed off a consent opinion Friday ending the case against Linda Williams and her son, Clint, who worked as a nurse supervisor at Villa Feliciana.

The board assessed a $2,000 civil fine against Linda Williams and $1,000 fine against her son.

Linda Williams retired from Villa Feliciana on May 10, 2013. Williams had served in the highest level of nursing administration since Dec. 10, 2001.

Her son was employed as an RN supervisor I from January 2006 through May 2007 and later became an RN supervisor, according to the consent opinion.

State law bans a member of the immediate family of an agency head from being employed by their agency.

The state-operated Villa Feliciana is located in East Feliciana Parish. It provides medical care and rehabilitative services to medically complex patients diagnosed with chronic diseases, disabilities and terminal illnesses.
