Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson appeared at a rally with Republican presidential hopeful and fellow reality television star Donald Trump last week, prompting a bit of speculation that Robertson had ditched Gov. Bobby Jindal’s campaign and joined team Trump.
But Jindal’s campaign says not so fast…
In a message via social media, Jindal campaign spokesman Kyle Plotkin said the governor has spoken to Robertson since the Trump event.
“Willie obviously admires Trump’s business acumen,” Plotkin wrote. “But he’s for Bobby for President.”
Robertson has repeatedly talked up Jindal’s campaign and even sent a fundraising email to supporters (though the family was noticeably absent from the list of contributors in Jindal’s first campaign finance report).
Jindal appeared on Duck Dynasty last year. He’s frequently hyped the Louisiana-set reality show as being among his favorites on television, and even presented Robertson with the Governor’s Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence.
