Republican Scott Angelle hasn’t endorsed either candidate in Louisiana’s Nov. 21 gubernatorial runoff between Democrat John Bel Edwards and Republican David Vitter. But a group of influential Angelle supporters from Acadiana will hold a fundraiser for Edwards Friday in Lafayette.
Paul Segura, former state Rep. Ted Haik, former state Rep. Don Bacque, Wayne Elmore, Gene Sellers, Perry Segura and former Lt. Gov. Paul Hardy are listed as hosts of the event, which will take place at the Petroleum Club. Attendees are asked to contribute $5,000 to Edwards’ campaign, per the event invitation.
Angelle, a member of the state Public Service Commission from Breaux Bridge, came in third place in the Oct. 24 gubernatorial primary.
Jay Dardenne, another Republican who didn’t make it to the runoff, announced his endorsement of Edwards this week.
