North Louisiana voters kissed U.S. Congressman Vance McCallister goodbye on Tuesday.
With almost all of the 845 precincts reporting, it appears fourth term Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo and Dr. Ralph Abraham, a general practitioner in the rural community of Alto, will be heading to the Dec. 6 runoff.
Mayo led with 28 percent of the vote, and Abraham, with 23 percent of the vote, just barely ousted Zach Dasher, a Calhoun Republican who is the nephew of the reality TV star Duck Commander Phil Robertson, who took 22 percent of votes.
McCallister, was in fourth place with 11 percent of votes.
In April, security camera footage revealed McCallister kissing a married aide. He initially declared he would not seek a full term. In November 2013, he claimed the seat vacated by Rodney Alexander by relying on a “family values” message and his “Duck Dynasty” endorsement.
