It’s too late to register to vote for Saturday’s statewide elections, but Louisiana residents have until Wednesday to sign up to participate in the Nov. 21 runoff.

Eligible residents have until midnight Wednesday to register to vote online.

They also can register in person daily until close of business at parish registrars of voters offices and at the state Office of Motor Vehicles, state social service agencies and armed forces recruitment locations.

Registrars’ offices are generally open daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Voters must be 18 or older, reside in the state and parish in which they seek to register, not be under an order of imprisonment for a felony conviction and not be under a judgment of full interdiction for mental incompetence or partial interdiction with suspension of voting rights.

If registering in person at registrars’ offices, individuals must provide proof of age, residency and identity. Proof can include a current Louisiana driver’s license, birth certificate or other documentation “which reasonably and sufficiently establishes” the individual’s identity, age and residency.
