Incumbent Republican state Rep. Darrell Ourso will face Republican challenger Rick Edmonds in a Nov. 21 runoff for the House District 66 seat.

Ourso, who was elected to the seat in a special election earlier this year, led the five-candidate field with 38 percent of the vote. Edmonds, a pastor and the vice president of Louisiana Family Forum, placed second with 23 percent.

Fellow Republican Rick Bond came in third with 16 percent of the vote, while Antoine Pierce, the sole Democrat in the race, tailed Bond by 35 votes. Republican Rusty Secrist trailed the five candidate field with 8 percent.

District 66 includes parts of the southern portion of East Baton Rouge Parish.
