Secretary of State Tom Schedler offered good news Tuesday to legislators reviewing the governor’s $25 billion proposed state spending plan.
Unlike in past years, Schedler told the House Appropriations Committee that he has no concerns about needing to make cuts to museum hours or personnel. Schedler oversees elections as well as museums.
“We really have no complaints with our budget this year. Quite frankly, it’s the best budget we’ve had going into a fiscal year for some time,” he said.
Schedler said he likes the new norm after several years of severe budget cuts.
