Traffic is freely moving again on the Sunshine Bridge on La. 70 in St. James Parish after work crews completed structure repairs, State Police reported.
A few pieces of sheet metal fell onto the bridge after an oversized load on an 18-wheeler damaged parts of the bridge while crossing the structure earlier, Trooper First Class Jared Sandifer said. The damage has since been cleared away by personnel with the state Department of Transportation and Development, Sandifer said.
Expect some traffic delays while congestion near the bridge clears, State Police said.
