Update, 2 p.m.: All lanes of Interstate 10 West near Grosse Tete have been reopened, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
All or part of the interstate was closed since about 5:30 a.m. after a fire involving an 18-wheeler snarled traffic.
The left lane of Interstate 10 West near Grosse Tete has opened, but the right lane remains closed, according to Louisiana State Police, because of an 18-wheeler-trailer fire.
The fire occurred on I-10 West at mile marker 144 between the La. 415 exit and the Grosse Tete exit in West Baton Rouge Parish.
Traffic is being diverted onto U.S. 190 West. As of noon, traffic congestion has reached the College Drive exit.
