An accident involving an 18-wheeler that struck and pulled down low-hanging power lines on Siegen Lane Monday afternoon brought traffic on the heavily traveled corridor to a trickle, causing lengthy delays in both directions, State Police said.

The wreck, just south of Airline Highway, caused officers to close all but one lane in each direction, said Trooper Bryan Lee, a State Police spokesman.

Drivers “can expect delays if they’re traveling on Siegen,” Lee said.
