The foul polls at Alex Box Stadium were toppled during a fierce thunderstorm that roared across southeastern Louisiana on Monday morning.

The storm – carrying winds up 50-plus mph – snapped the right and left field metal foul polls. One was left lying on Skip Bertman Field and the other toppled out of the park on the concourse beyond right field.

LSU, the No. 1 ranked baseball team in the nation, hosts Alcorn at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Winds ripped the Box’s tarp, and the fence atop the right field bleachers was mangled. The lining that covers the center field wall fluttered loose, too.
