Big events and a long Memorial Day weekend in Baton Rouge could be making for some big Friday traffic headaches around the city.

Baton Rouge Cpl. L'Jean McKneely doesn’t expect the traffic to exceed what LSU football fans are used to on game days, but he said extra police officers will be on duty working the concert and monitoring traffic.

In past years, McKneely said, Baton Rouge police haven't had any major problems with traffic on Memorial Day weekend.

“We’ll let it flow freely, and if any major congestion occurs, we’ll intervene,” he said.
