Weatherwise magazine published the Top 10 U.S. weather events of 2010, including snowstorms, heat, flooding and tornadoes. At No. 10 was the January Pacific Storm, a foot of rain into California and 100 inches of snow that buried the Sierra Nevadas. The Nor?easter of Dec. 26 sent snow to the Carolinas and New England, making the No. 9 slot. At No. 8, the May 10 tornado outbreak was the largest for Oklahoma since 1999, as 55 twisters caused three deaths, 81 injuries and $2 billion in damage. Another tornado outbreak in April made the No. 7 slot when 10 people died in Mississippi.
