The constant bashing of former District Attorney Walter Reed overlooks the good that he did all those years in office. Many St. Tammany/Washington Parish residents know what I mean. He took the time to help constituents with small issues that maybe avoided hardship and embarrassment but did not compromise justice. Unlike many politicians who mostly talk to each other instead of truly communicating with individuals, he was not too important to listen.

I don’t know about the indicted activities, but I find the misuse of campaign funds a very foggy area. Private individuals give their own money to a candidate. They are then invested and should watch. If they don’t like the spending, speak up and don’t give any more.

The legal system will sort it out. Meanwhile, his record should not be totally dismissed as he is pronounced all guilty of everything by noisy public and media opinion.
