I have lived in Baton Rouge for more than 25 years, and in all that time I cannot recall being thankful for anything the Metro Council ever did until it stopped the latest boondoggle bond issue cold.

This is a time of layoffs, frozen salaries, failing businesses and budget cuts. The very last thing the people of this city need is to have their taxes raised.
