In reply to J.S. Smith: The first mass murder in the U.S. wasn’t by someone shooting a gun; it was by Andrew Kehoe on May 18, 1927, in Bath Township, Michigan, and killed 38 elementary school children and six adults and injured at least 58 other people. “Kehoe first killed his wife, firebombed his farm and detonated a major explosion in the Bath Consolidated School before committing suicide by detonating a final explosion in his truck. It is the deadliest mass murder in a school in United States history,” Wikipedia says. If you want to kill you don’t need a gun.

When has the NRA forced anyone to purchase or own a weapon? Ninety percent want background checks? Where did you get this information for both these comments? You’re also very quick to want to give up your Second Amendment rights that our forefathers thought so important that it came right after freedom of speech, the First Amendment. Am I afraid of big government? Yes I am, and so should you and every other American citizen.

Enforce the laws we already have and lock up the offenders who use guns? Do you really think that more laws or taking the guns from law-abiding people will stop the criminals? The answer to that is NO!
