Regarding Michael Hale's letter about the Republican tax plan as a sham, he misses some important facts. The plan wants to reduce corporate taxes from 35 percent to 20 percent. Hale believes this will give these corporations more taxpayer money. What he does not understand is that corporations do not pay these taxes. People do. The customers that buy their products or services pay the taxes. That is you and me, and customers around the world. To be more competitive, which will make our products cheaper for foreign customers, you reduce the corporate tax that people pay.

Also, tax cuts do not increase the deficit. Every tax cut, including President John F. Kennedy's, increased the revenue to the treasury.

Letters: Tax "reform" plan a sham

One more thought. Where is it stated that Republicans want to cut Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, aid to children? Please try to state only facts and not Democrat talking points.
