Bobby Jindal, Louisiana’s governor who can’t govern, now expands his Louisiana exploits to the international stage by making unsupported statements about “no go zones” in Europe. He once said he wasn’t a scientist so he couldn’t comment on climate change. The Louisiana budget disaster demonstrates that he knows nothing about economics. He is getting no traction in the polling for the Republican nomination so he isn’t succeeding at politics. Now he’s proving he knows nothing about the international scene. So, what does Bobby know? Perhaps British Prime Minister David Cameron got it right in commenting, “When I heard this, frankly, I choked on my porridge and I thought it must be April Fool’s Day. This guy is clearly a complete idiot.”

It’s time for the Louisiana Legislature to step up and solve Louisiana’s fiscal crisis. If they don’t, both higher education and health will be devastated and disabling cuts will be required in other services. The Legislature must act to implement legislation with a veto proof majority.
