Is Southern University beyond repair?
In the past three years, I have attempted to attend three games at A.W. Mumford Stadium. Out of three attempts, I have successfully made it onto campus and into my seat once.
I have been denied admission to campus, denied the opportunity to park in the prepaid lot that goes to season ticket holders and informed that these decisions are being made by campus police.
What is the point of having season tickets, if not to watch the games? Why would anyone pay for a season parking pass, only then to be denied a parking spot because officials at the school have decided to “sell” parking spaces to people who appear on game day?
Yes, its trivial. In the grand scheme of things, it’s a minor annoyance. In a time of declining enrollment and waning support, however, it’s best to take care of those who take care of you. That’s just good business.
