I almost choked with laughter when I read the final paragraph of “Jindal signs bills to ban AG contracts.”

Don Briggs, president of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association, was quoted as piously noting that the three cited bills “confirm the notion that greed will not trump hard work.” Big Pharma was behind the efforts of the Coalition for Common Sense that killed HB799 and Mr. Briggs, well, the name of his “good government group” speaks for itself. Seems to me that “greed,” in fact, won the day in all three cited cases. The results indicate that trial attorneys simply do not have the money and profits of Big Pharma and Big Oil, the greediest corporations on the planet.
