I am personally tired of this Southern bias that has pervaded the letters to the editor recently. The very few people with the loudest mouths and most bigoted attitudes always seem to make the press. Once again, the tiny minority has tried to intimidate your readers with their urge to control anyone who doesn't agree with them. Please stop these annoying and tiny-minded people who cannot allow (mostly minority) NFL players from expressing their basic rights as citizens.

Remember this: When I was younger, wearing an American flag vest in public nearly got me arrested; now, everyone from NASCAR drivers to country music fans wears every manner of clothing in the image of the flag. But some people refuse to allow free speech. Stop watching whatever you want; no one cares. Really! I'll watch every boring Thursday night game and every game possible on every TV in my house. Who cares?

Anthem Protests Faith Football

FILE - In this Oct. 2, 2016 file photo, San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick, left, and safety Eric Reid kneel during the national anthem before an NFL football game against the Dallas Cowboys in Santa Clara, Calif. Reid says his Christian faith is the reason why he joined former teammate Colin Kaepernick in kneeling for the anthem. (AP Photo/Marcio Jose Sanchez, File) ORG XMIT: NY151
