College football programs across the nation are so very disappointed that the LSU administration did not dismiss coach Les Miles. How dare you deprive athletic directors everywhere of the opportunity to hire an elite FBS coach with credentials that will be most difficult for LSU to replace and other programs covet — outstanding record, proven winner, championships, “to die for” recruiting skills, devoted to family, players, his university and community; must I go on? Surely the myopic “what have you done for me lately” syndrome far outweighs these credentials, justifying dismissal. This is from a college football fan who simply admires great coaching and doesn’t even follow LSU athletics.
