After reading The Advocate’s latest about the removal of Confederate statues in New Orleans, I was ashamed to be a naturalized American.

I have no ax to grind with the North, the South or the Civil War since I was born in a foreign country.

To destroy pieces of art because they do not agree with a belief system is very primitive and childish.

The early Christians did it in Rome and recently, the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria.

Have we learned nothing? Do we still act like little children on the playground?

This whole removal thing has done a terrible disservice to New Orleans and the United States. Never hide your history!
