“Shoot the messenger” is the classic act of blaming the bearer of bad news.

That describes the recent letter accusing The Associated Press of “always betray[ing] an anti-Trump and anti-conservative bias.” The writer, a self-described conservative, apparently does not want to learn anything that goes against her ideology. But the public needs more information than conservative media are often willing to admit exists. The AP objectively reports the news, good and bad.
