The hiring of Carolyn McKnight-Bray could be a decision that will further polarize our community.

Her comment that, “The need is great to continue to serve people who are cut off from being able to go to country clubs and the kinds of things people with money can do” was troubling.

I always thought the parks were for all the people of the parish, regardless of economic status. She also was quoted as saying her first order of business would be to “find out who the main players and who the partners and potential partners are.”

I hope after she learns about who uses and supports our parks she’ll see that they are for everyone, not just those “without” money.

We have a great park system in the parish; let’s hope she doesn’t let her apparent bias destroy what has been accomplished.
